—Levi H. Gray of 79 Fifth Avenue, former Alderman from the Fifteenth Ward and a veteran of the Civil War, died last evening after a long illness. He was born at Camden, Washington County, May 2, 1844. He emlisted in the Union Army when seventeen years of age, serving in the One Hundred and Twenty-third Regiment and was with General Sherman on his famous march from Atlanta to the sea. Mr. Gray was engaged for thirty-five years in the teaming business in the firm of C. B. & L. H. Gray. He was an honorary member of the Troy Vocal Society, a member of Post Griswold, G. A. R., and a former Trustee of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He served two terms in the Common Council. Mr. Gray is survived by his wife, Elizabeth H. Wheeler Gray, and three step-sons, Frank M. Wheeler and Fred L. Wheeler, of this city, and Joseph E. Wheeler, of this city, and Joseph E. Wheeler of Binghamton. The funeral will take place Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. Dr. George Fairlee officiating.
