A Sleigh Ride.
On Tuesday last our Military Company, for once in the season, threw away “dull care” in the recreation of a fine sleigh ride. Proceeding to Troy they crossed over to West Troy, and passing through Cohoes, from thence proceeded to Mechanicville where they partook of an excellent supper, and sometime on the morning of the 17th made their appearance again at the ‘burgh, after, according to their own acknowledgment, participating in the enjoyment of one of the most pleasant and agreeable sleigh-rides ever get up. They were accompanied by the Band, who, by their fine music increased the pleasure of the party. The Company filled two large sleighs, and with the exception of their caps were dressed in full uniform, presenting an attractive group of merry-hearted Lansingburgh “Soger boys.”
