David MacRea (1866-1944)
David N. MacRea, prominent in Troy Masonic circles, died last night at Samaritan Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Scotland, but had lived here since he was two years old. For many years he was employed by the Tolhurst Machine Shop Co. When that firm closed, he became employed by the A. F. Zak Machine Works. He was a member of Jerusalem Lodge, F. and A. M., Phoenix Chapter, R. A. M.; Bloss Council, R and S. M.; Apollo Commandery, K. T.; Oriental Temple, A. A. O. N. M. S., and the Oasis Club. He also was a lifelong member of Grace Methodist Church and a member of the Industrial Club of the Y. M. C. A. The survivors are his wife, the former Edith Webster Smith; one brother, William of Schenectady, Boatswain’s Mate Robert MacRea of the Navy and Frederick MacRea of Troy and one grandniece, Jean MacRea of Troy. the funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Bryce Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Oakwood Cemetery.
